Small burns in woven carpets can often be repaired by using a thread taken from the edge of the carpet. Or, preferably, from an offcut. Trim off the burned edges around the hole. Then wind the thread around a large knitting needle and squeeze it tight so that it will fit compactly into the hole. Apply rubber latex adhesive to the base of the hole. Wait until it becomes tacky and then slide the thread from the needle into the hole. Allow the adhesive to dry for a few hours and then trim the loops flush with the carpet.
