The simplest way of cutting an awkward shape in a ceramic tile is to score the outline of the shape to be cut out through the glaze using a tile cutter with a tungsten carbide tip. Do not use a glass cutter as it will become blunt. Using a pair of pincers carefully nibble away small pieces of the tile until the score line has been reached. Smooth off the cut edge with giasspaper if necessary.
