Always check the position of the thermostat when having a central-heating system installed or moving into a house or flat where central heating is already fitted. To work efficiently, the thermostat must be fitted on an internal wall, at least lAm5ft above the floor. It should not be in a draughty area, which could mean that the system would be operating almost constantly, or near a heat source. Such as a cooker, which would cause it to cut off the heat while other parts of the house are cold.
